I was a photo editor and staff photographer for WSJ's Weekend section. They use a lot of still life, stock photos, and they even do a little fashion (on seamless) from time to time. The day rate was good at the time (7 yrs ago), but I don't know if it's gone up or not. It always bothered me when people told me there's no photos in WSJ while I was working there because there have been for a long time... just not on the cover. But that could be why a lot of photographers didn't bother to pick it up.

Do you think they have seen the light? or are they just testing the waters of something besides mugshots.
Any reason to think the new owner of the WSJ is a factor?

We'll continue to keep an eye on their art usage.

thanks for the post,
brett
