They use a lot of still life, stock photos, and they even do a little fashion (on seamless) from time to time. The day rate was good at the time (7 yrs ago), but I don't know if it's gone up or not. It always bothered me when people told me there's no photos in WSJ while I was working there because there have been for a long time... just not on the cover.
