I marco yousuf caratozzolo am the long lost godson of mr karsh. My father was in ottawa in 1967 a month before i was born and photographed the master and his beautiful wife estrellita. I am now in the process of contacting Mrs. Karsh or Jerry Fielder (curator) to forward these great photos. I'm sure they will be a great surprise! My father got a lot of inspiration and influence from Mr.Karsh and I am currently working on a book of my fathers works.
I would appreciate any info on how I may contact someone to be able to forward these photos to Mrs. Karsh .
                                                            sincerely,
                                                                              Marco Yousuf Caratozzolo

Thank you for this post.

Never heard of YK... but I am new to this craft. The short autobiography is as worthy as the photos.

"[Photography] has kept me young in heart, adventurous, forever seeking, and always aware that the heart and mind are the true lens of the camera."

What a mensch.

Back in 84 or 85 my dad insisted that I go see a Karsh exhibit in Edinburgh, Scotland. I was 14 or 15 at the time.
I was blown away. that was a feast for the eyes.
I am glad that you reminded us about YK. seems like he slipped off the radar.
a true master photographer.

I work at Cargill, Inc in Minnesota and they have several Yousuf prints prominently displayed in one of the major corridors. They are amazing to look at.
