You should check out http://www.lensmodern.com. Set up a few years ago by top end photographers with the aim of providing an outlet for that archived creative energy sitting in high end photographers filing cabinets.

Starting something like this with a poor business model in a difficult economy strikes me a naive.

Just recently TWO stock agencies took the final dive. ONE of them had this type of idea as well, the other one just had no real defined model. BTW remember IBID? Their photographs and beautiful catalogs also only paid attention to the supposed “best”

IBID failed years ago.

Gallerystock definitely has its share of big names, as well – Stephen Shore, Stephen Wilkes, Nadav Kander, Michael Schnabel, Massimo Vitali, and on and on.

While I find it interesting that Trunk represents images of and by “stars”, I wasn’t as impressed with the overall files as I was by the work at Gallery Stock. In my mind, as a photographer, great imagery trumps big names. I know that isn’t true of much of the world but I think buyers with truly discerning eyes would find more great imagery to work with at some of the other boutique agencies.
