I was recently lead to drink from the deep waters of Milton Glaser's wisdom via some other source (which I can no longer remember)... But I am grateful to revisit the list here. The lengthier explanations of each point are not to be missed!

Some words of wisdom from a vary wise lady friend.(1)I lov you not because of who you are but because of who I am when I am with you. (2) No man /woman is worth your tears, and the one who is wont make you cry.(3)Just because someone dosen't lov you the way you want them to dosen't mean they don't lov you with all they have.(4)A true freind is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.(5)The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you cant have them.(6)Never frown,Even when you are sad because you never know who is falling in lov with your smile.(7)To the world you may be one person but to one person you may be the world.(8)Dont wast your time on a man/woman who isent willing to wast their time on you.(9)Mabye God wants us to meet a few jackasstoads and wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet that person we will know how to be grateful.(10)Don't cry because its over smile because it happend at all.(11)There's always going to be people who will hurt you,so keep on trusting and be more careful about who you trust next time around.(12)Make your self a better person and know who you are, before you try to know someone els and exspect them to know you.(13)Dont try so hard, sometimes the best things come when you least exspect them to.Remember what ever happens happens for a reason.(14) Truth will set you free! I do in this truly belive.

Off topic, but after I read that list a few months back, I told the rabbit/butcher joke in item #9 to my 4-year-old son. He asked me to tell it again and if anyone asks him if he knows a joke, that's the one he tells. He does the voices of the butcher and the rabbit and everything. Kids are amazing.

Reminds me of this list:

Helping other people helps me.
Having guts always works out for me.
Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
Assuming is stifling
Hindsight is 20/20
Keeping a diary supports personal development.
Trying to look good limits life.
Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
worrying solves nothing
Complaining is silly, either act of forget.
Everybody thinks they are right
Low expectations are a good strategy.
Everybody who is honest is interesting.

Paraphrased form this:

Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the links to Milton's and Tim's sites, both of which are also worth exploring.

I'm a freelance writer, but a photographer colleague recommended your site. I'm glad he did!

Thanks for posting this. The explanations really hit it home. 4 & 9 have stirred up so much in my mind I don't believe I'll think about the subjects the same way.
