What is the best advice you can give to a photographer who is struggling to find their voice?

Well if it wasn’t a struggle to find one’s own voice, what would be the point? Struggle is good! I think it helps to be an independent thinker. Be sure of yourself and your intention. Read and read more. The struggle is what makes it worth doing – what gives your voice the meaning.

I suggest you keep taking photos and find something to get excited about. Show your images to others, get on Flickr, experiment with your shots and ENJOY!
    Best wishes.

I suggest educating yourself as far as what others are doing in your industry. Getting yourself to be objective and educated is what the most successful photographers I have met have done. Know what you are dealing with and get to know what works and what doesn’t.
I also recommend being creative in other ways just to get that side of your brain going. Take a hike, go to a doc film festival or a museum or a local tour. Whatever works to stimulate your creativity will be contagious to your photo career.
That voice has to be strong, consistent and yours. That voice also will need to be worked on and pushed throughout your entire career so get used to this.
