Brin has a net worth of $18.7 billion. I wouldn’t really call that an ‘innocent faith.’

His net worth doesn’t say much other than that he’s good at what he does. I think no one doubts that the free book thing benefits Google. The question is how will it affect the publishing industry and writers in the long run. I’d hate do live in a world where the Stephanie Meyers and Dan Browns are the only “writers” left because they can make a living from selling merchandise and movie rights.
