We gave to Partners in Health (www.pih.org), as they have been there for a long time, they didn’t lose their facilities and they employ mainly Haitians – along the lines of “teaching a man to fish,” their clinics are staffed and run by locals. Fantastic book about the organization and its founder, Paul Farmer, “Mountains Beyond MOuntains” by Tracy Kidder.
