Some of it's imagery is heartbreaking and startling. It successfully transports it's message, without falling into a trap of guilt-mongering. The nomination is well-deserved. I'm all about animal rights and I don't eat meat, etc., but for some reason spending this much energy on a documentary project about animals doesn't seem as important when there is so much injustice happening to humans around the world. More power to Louie; I'm not knocking this kind of work. I'm sure the film is great0 ... I am just saying I choose to spend my energy documenting other things ... my visual journalism is almost always about people. @Ed

I’m all about animal rights and I don’t eat meat, etc., but for some reason spending this much energy on a documentary project about animals doesn’t seem as important when there is so much injustice happening to humans around the world. More power to Louie; I’m not knocking this kind of work. I’m sure the film is great0 … I am just saying I choose to spend my energy documenting other things … my visual journalism is almost always about people.
