  1. This is absolutely true. Even if it’s planned, to do something totally different and pursue something that you want to do that doesn’t fit in to your “traditional” work is a great shot in the arm.

  2. You never know what you’ll see until you’ll find until you go out and see it.

  3. Very true. I thought it would be great to shoot film for the first time as I walked around the streets of NYC. This is my second time being here, so I went and going to places I have never been to. Very excited to see the outcome.

  4. Here, here, indeed.

I cannot concur more to the, “Personal work is what recharges us” statement. I am in the San Francisco bay area on creative recharge since 2009. I am shooting for myself things I would NEVER consider doing from lack of a “spine” due to conservative and reserved upbringing. Let’s just leave it at that. Not only are my personal works recharging me, they are helping me develop a backbone and building confidence (with discretion) when I should say, “F*** YOU!” to anyone that tells me what I can and cannot do.

  5. Undoubtedly true and one of those easily forgotten things. We must make time for the personal work and remember what got us into this field in the first place.
