  1. I first met Wayne at Kamoinge exhibit held at the Calumet store gallery about three years ago and struck up a conversation about his images taken at Orchard Beach in the Bronx. I found him personable and he shared how he obtained permission from the beach goers. I was still learning how to become a better photographer and was appreciative of his generosity to indulge my questions. I saw his work again in the PDN publication where his work was featured about two years ago. I am very impressed with his work; it is not often you find a black photographer to get his work seen in the elite photography community. I know because I am trying to do the same as he: bring images of ordinary black people to a wider audience.

  2. These portraits are fantastic! I have never seen this subject covered before, and they seem to be very nicely crafted. Bravo!
