great works of art have the power to move us, whether they’re made now or whether they were made 50 years ago, 100 years ago, or 1,000 years ago or more. And so each time we lose something that has that power, we’ve lost an opportunity to be changed by it.

My wife bring the subject up sometimes. We see younger generation not preserving family pictures being taken today. They shoot with their phones, post them to Facebook, etc. and then erasing the files. There is now at least one generation without photographic records.
Judging from I see on Facebook, thank God they erase them. I agree though that it isn’t much fun to store your keepsakes on your hard drive.
