  5. Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the links to Milton’s and Tim’s sites, both of which are also worth exploring.

I’m a freelance writer, but a photographer colleague recommended your site. I’m glad he did!

  7. Off topic, but after I read that list a few months back, I told the rabbit/butcher joke in item #9 to my 4-year-old son. He asked me to tell it again and if anyone asks him if he knows a joke, that’s the one he tells. He does the voices of the butcher and the rabbit and everything. Kids are amazing.

  9. Thanks for the link Rob! Milton Glaser has always been one of my favorite graphic designers and has fantastic wisdom.

  10. It’s reassuring to discover one of your heroes is not only human in every sense of the word, but that he’s experienced and solved the same great problems I struggle with…

  11. I was recently lead to drink from the deep waters of Milton Glaser’s wisdom via some other source (which I can no longer remember)… But I am grateful to revisit the list here. The lengthier explanations of each point are not to be missed!

  12. Great advice. After reading the explanations I realized just how true it is in my life/work.

    THANKS FOR POSTING!
